Meant pei my bad.
Literally any all metal extruder. Mine was a plastic piece of shit.

The neo is all metal extruder, so good there. Digging up the other upgrades though. Thanks!
Some cheap dry boxes too if you didn’t already have something
The all metal creality ones are not that good IMHO. And the Bondtech ones are plastic but are awesome. So it depends.
Just make sure in this conversation you’re keeping extruder and hot ends correctly identified
Can get confused and they are very different
Hotend… where plastic melt
Extruder… push plastic down tube
I grabbed the thermistor, the bimetal heat break, some nozzle wrenches, and the Capricorn tubing. I’m gonna leave the bed be for now. I figure it’s working, it’s just the hot end driving me nuts right now.
Print it standing up with a brim. Depending on what the inside looks like you you might not even need supports
I promise you a PEI Magnetic bed is a a QoL improvement. The prints litterally pop off of the bed when it is cooled.
Oh I’m printing with multi material supports… it’s a dream lol
There’s just not much actual material to work with
I applied thermal compound (Artic silver) to mine prior to installing, i really wanted to try to wick off heat to the fins of the hot end. I read conflicting results on this but i have had zero issues since doing it.
At a certain point, I just threw 60 bucks at a 200 dollar printer.
Say I wanted a nice one. One that doesn’t need constant tinkering, or upgrades. Maybe servos instead of steppers, linear ways, gears instead of belts, that kind of thing. Anything out there like that? That doesn’t cost my house, car, and immortal soul?
Not to sound like a Bambi shill…
But look at the a1 mini
It’s Bambu quality printing experience, for 200$ right now… and you can add an ams
The a1 compared to a ender 3 out of box is not even close to a fair fight
Bambu is most likely taking a loss to challenge crealitys slice of the market
I agree. The only thing I didn’t like about the A1 mini is the bed size is 50mm smaller than the ender3. Aside from that you’re right
Look at the Sovol SV08 and Kingroon KP3S Pro V2. I’ve never used them but both are on my list for a reason.
What I hate the most about the Ender 3 is that you’re always upgrading something, it’s never good enough…
Can I ask which which printer are you using?
Use some boron nitride paste instead, AS is not rated for 3D printer temperatures and could create toxic fumes or something.
As nice as it is after the print, I’ve had more issue getting it to stick to the bed than I had with my glass plate and hairspray …
And smooth PEI are a nightmare …
Currently using a Bambu X1 carbon
And I’m using petg/pla support structures…
All the years that were spent trying to come up with special filament, only to find out petg and pla… the most common and cheap filaments despise adhering to each other
I print supports like normal, but I select the interface to be petg/pla which ever is opposite of print…
set zero z distance, and set it to a completely solid interface pattern… it peels off clean enough you can’t tell the difference between a supported face and an ironed top layer… it’s cheating
And by setting ONLY the interface for multi material, you only have like 6ish material changes… so it costs a few cents of purged material ![]()
(Assuming a sharp single supported surface)
Ive not had any issues getting it to stick. But i also use the textured PEI plate.
PLA first layer is usually 210 with a 60* bed.
Never came off on me, and pops right off once cooled.
PLA is easy… ABS will really test a bed surface… And textured PEI is the best in my experience.
Made a little caddy
Did you make the Crap-on emblem too?
