I’ve been dealing with some health issues that have me sidelined/limited in mobility and while things are improving I’ve gotten static. What are you working on? What are your projects? My home server is still fun but I’ve been letting it slide. I went ot the range yesterday for the first time in a couple of months and that was wonderful. And of course biohacking suggestions are always welcome.
Regardless, check in and say hello. I’d love to hear from everyone.

Meshtastic has been fun on and off recently.
If you have a 3d printer and soldering iron, $100-$150 would get you two baby nodes and a really nice repeater style node.

Thank you for that, Meshtastic has been something I’ve been considering but had forgotten about. Lemme dig in and see how this would work for me.

to piggy back on this i designed the Michtastic node. its a low cost of entry node that should be very cost efficient to build yourself.
Michigans own low power low formfactor basic lora node to be used on Meshtastic
i got 30 made for around 150$ plus the cost of the pro-micro.
In addition to that the RFID Door Simulator project has been getting pretty popular.
This is a project repository for creating a full fledged door access controller using an HID Reader, Arduino, and i2c screen. This project will allow you to use the reader as a simple badge scanner, act as a door controller, identify authorized access control cards, add cards, and delete cards.
This one is about 30$ in parts plus the cost of the HID Reader (R10/R15).
I have videos of this functioning in my thread here
Seems i forgot to upload the finished demonstration unit.
Apologies for the kiddos in the background.
This shows off the door simulator in read mode, then i use the admin card to switch the mode to Door mode. I show off an unauthorized key and the no-entry display. then i use an authorized key and shows it triggers the relay to power the mag plunger.
Admin cards can be enrolled in the web interface or hard coded before compiling. I am also making it so the first time running the code…
Also you can look at any of @Chimpofm projects, his always give me a ton of inspiration.

NFC Pets — Virtual Tamagotchi Pets Living on NFC Tags, Controlled by Your Smartphone!
Hey everyone! I’m excited to share a new project idea called NFC Pets — a minimalist Tamagotchi-style virtual pet game where your pet lives on an NFC tag, and you interact with it through your smartphone.
Why Smartphones?
Most modern smartphones have NFC readers and writers built-in. Instead of building a custom handheld device, you can use an app to:
Read your pet’s data from the NFC …
