Im sure a range booster of sorts exists right?

Workplace got renovated, not super sure how their system works (clearly neither are they, 2 months on and the doors still dont work) but theres a “charger” and then a ton of door readers. I have no issues with 2 of the 3 types of readers, the 3rd is too low power. I got the charger to work once way back when i implanted, and for whatever reason it was seemingly immune to the timeout. Supposedly every day, but sometimes you can go a week without charging your badge sometimes its like half an hour. Anyway thats super off topic, about a month ago i hit my timeout and cannot for the life of me get a charge. Its way lower power than any of the readers, does light up the keychain and card but my chip is a touch deep and i cant for the life of me get a read. There has to be some sort of thing i can throw between right? Ive tried my badge a couple times but its too fast. I forget where, but there is a difference between my badge and chip, otherwise id be able to just charge my badge and itd work fine i presume. Maybe id be better off editing that?

Did you ever figure out what the heck that was doing?

Which I think might be changeable, if you wanted

If you can’t get a repeater to work:

Wait dt sells them straight up? Well thanks for solving my smooth brainedness. One question though, i see 20mm for just the chip and 25 with the sticker, is that in addition or just straight up? You think itd be strong enough or would i have to go with one of the beefier options?

Damn its wild you remember that :joy: been a minute. I wonder if i can change the sak with my phone, if thats what it was. Never got an answer, but if i had to guess its probably just a few lines of code, more of a check in than anything. The cloning never did work properly, charging changes nothing on the badge itself, mayyyyybe if i could change the bak itd be the “same” to the system

FYI, DT will have the larger 25mm stickers in stock and we’ll be updating our RSP offering in January

I don’t think the Gen2 xMagic was out back then, so if yours is a Gen1a you’d need something like a PM3 or Flipper to edit the manufacturer’s block

Though, if it’s worked this long with a different SAK I wouldn’t worry about it personally

The sak was mostly in the hopes that charging my badge would carry over, atm it doesn’t. I have no clue about the gen tbh, for whatever reason i thought it was a next :joy: actually, you wouldnt happen to know if theres an order history somewhere? Ya know, for science…Definitely Not because i forgot what i put in my body

You should have a receipt in your email, or DT can probably look up your email address and find your order

Or, if you trust past you:

Found an email, it is an xmagic, sku ending in -01 so probably the gen 1? Not that it matters, whatever app i was using updated at somepoint and takes 20 minutes to read, i aint steady enough for that :joy:

Edit upon checking out those screenshots, it is in fact 1a

Mifare Classic Tool?

You might be using both password files, you could try selecting only std keys

Wow that makes sense, twas way quicker. Used the key generated from my badge. Def gonna take a look when i get home (pm3 aint here) but you know what sector 15 is?

whatever it is is not present on my chip

I don’t think sector 15 holds anything specific, you’d have to look at the data

Hm…its got keys (the other sectors just got a0-5 and b0-5), whatever an ac is matvhes sector 0, and some data. Not that i know what to do with that. Oh and apparently 15 is kinda important, cuz it absolutely will not write it

My bad, yeah its hf

Which brings me to ask: how about LF, is there some way to enhance it? My condo door works pretty poorly with my (NExT) implant. I used the X field detector to find an optimal placement and indeed I can make the chip work if I position it just right, but oh boy, sometimes it takes me like five or six attempts. The original HID fob (and any copies I do with Proxmark) works flawlessly from reasonable distances.

I can’t alter the door sensor (it’s a rental in a very strict building), but I could add some booster somehow; does anyone know if there something available that would work? Searching only gets me HF/NFC boosters, not sure if they’d do any good here.

A lot of time and money has been put into this by @Hamspiced

He smashed the HF stuff out of the park, but LF physics has been, so far, a tough bitch to crack

here’s some more info

Without being able to mod the reader, and without a repeater/booster, I think your only remaining option would be a FlexEM

Only option probably isn’t correct. He could go with the objectively cooler FlexNExT.

That would be a neat trick given it hasn’t been produced in quite some time
